C3 Visiting Artist Closing Reception: Spencer Evans

Thursday, August 1, 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Mix and mingle with C3 Visiting Artist Spencer Evans in the Center for Creative Connections for the closing reception of his project In My Image. Chat with the artist and experience his current installation: large, collaborative self-portraits started by Museum visitors and completed by the artist by referencing conversations and reflections shared about each participant's unique identity.

DMA Members-Only Tours: Conservation Studio

Join us on selected dates for exclusive docent-led tours just for DMA Members. Tours last one hour and will explore one of the most important functions of an art museum.

Please check in at the DMA Membership Desk at the start of each tour. Space is very limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Looking for a hands-on experience in the DMA galleries? Visit the Pop-Up Art Spot on the Level 4 Landing for activities related to shapes, as well as a poetry activity, all inspired by nearby works of art. Free for all ages.

Gallery Talk: Caravaggio

Julien Domercq, the DMA's Lillian and James H. Clark Assistant Curator of European Art, will discuss Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio's masterpiece Martha and Mary Magdalene, on loan from the Detroit Institute of Arts.
