For the first time, he allowed a filmmaker to shadow him for a year as he created four new collections. Albert Maysles' 2015 documentary Iris follows Iris Apfel, who has had a decades-long presence in the New York fashion scene for her flamboyant looks and big personality. The film and its namesake remind us to do what we love and celebrate what makes us unique in the way we dress and live.

Film Screening: Caravaggio

Thursday, August 22, 7:00 p.m.

Derek Jarman’s 1986 film Caravaggio is a portrait of the artist as he looks back on his life, work, and love affairs. Shot in a dramatic chiaroscuro style evocative of Caravaggio’s paintings, the film explores the darker sides of the artist's character and the underbelly of Rome in the late Renaissance. This film is rated R (1986, 93 min.).
