Late Nights at the Dallas Museum of Art is celebrating its Sweet Sixteen! Join us as we revisit some of the hits from the past 16 years of Late Nights.

Kickoff Celebration with Rising Phoenix Lion Dance Association of Texas 
6:00–6:30 p.m., Concourse and Atrium
Celebrate a new year of Late Nights with a spectacular lion dance parade and performance by the Rising Phoenix Lion Dance Association of Texas.
 
Late Night Creations: Piece of Cake
6:00–10:00 p.m., Art Studio, Center for Creative Connections (C3)
It's not a DMA birthday celebration without cake and crafts. Construct a 3-D slice from cardstock to decorate with tissue paper icing, sequin sprinkles, and more. Turn a sweet birthday treat into a real work of art! All ages welcome, and all materials provided.
 
Treat Yo Self!

Grab a sweet treat for our Sweet Sixteen! Special birthday cupcakes will be available for purchase to satisfy your sweet tooth, and as our gift to you, the first 116 visitors who purchase food or beverages at the DMA Cafe will receive a free cupcake.
 
Wearable Art: Pan Ector Industries Screen Printed T-Shirts

Watch the art of screen printing with Pan Ector Industries and buy a T-shirt with a design inspired by the DMA's collection and Late Night’s Sweet Sixteen. Enter our contest to win one of 16 free shirts designed by Pan Ector—winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. in C3.

Join Emily Wiskera, DMA Manager of Access Programs, in the galleries for a short talk on Georgia O’Keeffe’s Grey Blue & Black—Pink Circle. This talk will last 16 minutes.

How are larger-than-life artworks brought into the Museum? Where does the art go when it’s not in the galleries? Join our team of registrars and art handlers for a peek behind the curtain and discover things you never knew about the DMA.
 
Performance in the Galleries featuring TBA Music
7:00 p.m., European Galleries, Level 2 Landing 
Stroll through the galleries listening to TBA Music’s perfect blend of classics, today’s favorite tunes, and original music. With Trevor’s incredible range and Brigitte’s powerful voice, together they will steal your hearts by creating a charming atmosphere with a folk feel.
 
Poppin’ Party Hats Maker Station

Every great birthday needs a fabulous party hat! Drop by our party hat maker station and use patterns from the art around you as inspiration for designing a party hat that really pops.
 
Pop-Up Art Spot

Looking for a hands-on experience in the DMA galleries? Visit the Pop-Up Art Spot to experience art in a new way. Look closely at nearby works of art and explore what it would be like to be in an artwork through drawing, writing, and listening.

Join former DMA Director Bonnie Pitman in the galleries for a short talk on Frederic Edwin Church’s The Icebergs. This talk will last 16 minutes.

DMA Members can go on this exclusive tour of artworks in our collection. Space is limited to 25 and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
Late Night Main Stage featuring Rockestra 
8:00–9:00 p.m., Atrium
Rockestra is an experience of epic proportions! Founded by world-renowned cellist Buffi Jacobs of Polyphonic Spree, Rockestra incorporates vast musical knowledge and instrument mastery into a truly unique musical experience.

8:30 p.m., Encontrará la charla al lado de la obra en el Nivel 4: Galerías de Arte Americano.
Acompañe al especialista educativo del DMA Bernardo Velez Rico para echar un vistazo más de cerca a dos autorretratos de la artista mexicana legendaria Frida Kahlo. Esta charla durará 16 minutos y se presentará en español.

Film: Loving Vincent

Loving Vincent brings together 65,000 oil paintings done in Vincent van Gogh's distinctive style to tell the story of the artist's last days and investigate the mystery behind his tragic death. This film is rated PG-13 (2017, 95 min.).

Jazz saxophonist Drew Zaremba and his zextet will perform his original compositions, including a new piece he composed inspired by works and artists in our collection such as Jackson Pollock.
