Events for DMA Members

DMA Members are invited to enjoy a host of exclusive programs, including invitations to special events and exhibition receptions, tours with curators, special viewing opportunities, hands-on learning experiences, family events, expert-led tours, discussions, and workshops.

Exhibition Preview Days
All DMA Members

Exhibition Preview Days give members the opportunity to see exhibitions before they open to the public. 

Exhibition Talks
Ambassador ($250) level and above

Members-only exhibition talks feature lectures and discussions with DMA curators and visiting experts, focusing on special exhibitions or temporary installations.

Exhibition Opening Celebrations
Ambassador ($250) level and above

Exhibition opening celebrations are exclusive member parties intended to kick off select special exhibitions with a bang. These festive occasions generally feature light bites, a cash bar, and exhibition-themed activities, as well as access to the exhibition.

Exclusive DMA Member Events
Advocate ($500) level and above

Members will be invited to exclusive events throughout the year, ranging from engaging social gatherings that include art-focused hands-on experiences or opportunities to meet VIP guests to exclusive access to non-public areas, special previews, and insider information. Recently, members had the opportunity to visit the Museum’s art storage areas and hear first-hand about the unique challenges of caring for an encyclopedic collection. Members were also receently invited to participate in “Drips and Drinks,” a Jackson Pollock–themed painting party where they enjoyed drinks and light bites while creating their own Pollock-inspired masterpiece.

DMA Circle Events

Contributor ($1,000) level and above

Members of DMA Circle, the Museum's most generous supporters, are invited to additional VIP events based on their level. These include additional Art Parties and behind-the-scenes events as well as the annual Director's Luncheon, curator-led tours of special exhibitions, and tours of new acquisitions. Additionally, DMA Circle Preview Receptions provide Circle Members with the first opportunity to see and enjoy special exhibitions in teh company of curators, lenders, and sponsors.

DMA Members enjoy priority access during DMA Members-Only Preview Days.

This exhibition will survey the prolific and provocative career of the late artist Günther Förg (19522013). This exhibition—the first major museum presentation of Förg’s work in the United States since 1989—will bring renewed attention to the artist by examining his legacy in relation to key issues of the 20th century, including postwar nostalgia and loss and the utopianism of high modernism.
